The small town of Hood River is known as a mecca of windsurfing, with several windsurfing shops for any last minute needs, and lodging ranging from camping to rental homes, and hotels to hostels. Meal options range from fast food to funky small eateries, and fine dining. Many well known lifestyle, kite and windsurfing companies have their offices and headquarters in and around Hood River. Our wind is amongst the most consistent in the world with average wind speeds in July predominantly West 10-25+ knots.
